Breathless Press' 4th Anniversary

Breathless Press is an e-book publisher specializing in Romance and Erotic(a) stories.

Our mission statement is simple: To provide the opportunity for readers to connect with romance authors through the purchasing of quality e-books at a low price.

Starting in the summer of 2009, Breathless Press came into existence. Since then, we have been producing top end romance and erotic stories for valued readers to enjoy.

Thanks so much for stopping by. So, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?
Thank you for having me here today! My name's Dianne and I grew up in a large, boisterous and loving family in California, spent ten years in the rocky mountains of Colorado, and now live in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon. Currently, I'm working as a floral designer in a locally owned gift shop. The perfect job for me! I can express myself through beautiful flowers, and I also meet the most romantic people who buy my arrangements, sometimes becoming a character in my current WIP.

How did you get started writing?
I’ve always been a storyteller, making up bedtime stories for my younger brothers and sister. When I started in the first grade I began to write these stories down. But it wasn’t until an amazing creative writing teacher I had in my early teens told me I had potential, encouraging me to submit my stories to the local magazine, that my passion began. I’ve had a love affair with writing ever since.

What was the inspiration for your book?
PAUL'S MISTAKE is my story in the Ad-Dick-tion vol 3 anthology with Breathless Press. It continues the love affair between two of my characters, Paul and Eran, that started in ERAN'S RELEASE, part of Ad-Dick-tion vol. 2. Eran grew up in an abusive environment and shies away from love, but with the help of Paul's patience and tenderness is able to come to terms with his fears and find happiness.

What’s the one genre you haven’t written in yet that you’d like to?
I've played a little with sci/fi and have a story all plotted out, but I still need to work on the science! I love the science fiction of Ray Bradbury and C.J. Cherryth and others, and would love to write something like one of their stories, something believable that take you out of this world and sets you down somewhere else.

Are there any genres you won’t read or write in? Why?
I'm really not big on non-fiction. I read and write to get away from reality! Also, I don't care much for full on erotica either. I need to have a storyline, a love story with a happy ending or at least the happy for now ending. I'm simply a hopeless romantic!

So, what are you working on right now? Got any releases planned, or still writing?
I have a story coming out in the 'Down on the Farm' anthology with Breathless Press titled CALLUM'S FATE. I also have a zombie romance story coming out this fall with Breathless Press called THE DARK BOKOR. I'm also working on a story for the Shakespearean anthology coming the end of September and a few other ideas I've written notes for. Busy busy!

Alright, now for some totally random, fun questions.
Favorite color? Mediterranean blue
Favorite movie? The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Book that inspired you to become an author? Everything by Ray Bradbury. His books opened my mind to a world of possibilities.
Alright, you have one superpower. What is it? Time keeper. I can let people have all the time they need to finish what they want to do, including me!
You can have dinner with any 3 people, dead, alive, fictitious, etc. Who are they? Ursula K. Le Guinn, C.J. Cherryh,  Dean Koontz (my favorite authors!)
Last question: Which of your characters are you most like and how/why? I'd say I'm most like Paul. When I fall in love it's deep and forever and I'd do anything for the one I love.

Author Bio:
After growing up in California and spending the first ten years of marriage in Colorado, Dianne now live in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon with her incredibly patient husband, who puts up with the endless hours she spends hunched over the keyboard letting her characters play.

She says Oregon’s raindrops are the perfect setting in which to write. There’s something about being cooped up in the house while it pours rain outside, a fire crackles on the hearth inside, and a cup of hot coffee warms her hands which kindles her imagination.

Currently, Dianne works as a floral designer in a locally-owned gift shop. Which is the perfect job for her. When not writing, she can express herself through the rich colors and textures of flowers and foliage.

  3. The most interesting thing about interviews of authors is always how they began writing, so I really rather enjoyed the story about how she started.
