My Review:
4 stars

Again, I brought my roommate in to help with this review. She had tried Nuphorin before, and her thoughts on MoodBliss were very similar.

For one, the ingredients and amounts are virtually the same. MoodBliss had 25mg less of 5-HTP than Nuphorin which was the only noticeable difference between the two. The two vitamins even looked virtually the same.

Even though MoodBliss had less of the 5-HTP, it still worked well in helping her when she became overwhelmed with stress and anxiety. Not to mention, she did feel a bit of an energy boost sometimes when taking the vitamins, a definite plus.

Also, since MoodBliss came in a more relaxing and peaceful looking bottle, she actually preferred using it over Nuphorin, which she thought looked too intimidating and medical. Plus, the MoodBliss is cheaper, which would make her more likely to buy it over Nuphorin in the future.

Salty Aftertaste - Reviewed by Trix

By Jason Lloyd
Ginge Publishing

Beaches, boys, and bad decisions...

In this nonfiction tale, Jason and his hilarious and crude motley cast of friends leave their mundane suburban jungles and flock to the mecca that is Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for vacation. They are in search of a little rest and relaxation; aka beach, bars and boys, lots of hot boys.

Jason is just looking for a little attention. He just wants to feel wanted and a little summer passion would not hurt either. Jason is the self-proclaimed hopeless romantic of the group. Will he find his summer love or is romance really scarce?

Kevin is the complete opposite of Jason. He feels that romance is only alive in stories. Kevin's love for a teenage drama goes too far and his obsession turns into more than he expected. Did Kevin finally stumble upon some romance or does his fascination finally get the better of him?

Bobby is looking for a connection. Any kind of connection. He meets a new guy every night and shares his bed every night with a different guy. What is really going on behind Bobby's bedroom door? Will he ever be able to fill this insatiable void for closeness?

Benjamin sneaks out every night. He disappears into the night and reemerges the next morning as if nothing had happened. He is quiet about his extracurricular activities. Where does Benjamin go? What is he doing?

In this beach oasis, where there is an endless sea of sexy men with perfect bodies, will Jason and his friends actually find love or just one night stands? One thing is for certain, it is an epic vacation that none of them will forget.

Trix’s Review:
3.25 stars

While the story takes place in the present day, it definitely evoked the feel of a lost '80s summer buddy comedy to me as I read it. Lloyd sets an authentic mood, and the bantering boys' frenetic search for Mr. Right Now in seemingly laid-back Rehoboth Beach is often lighthearted fun. On the other hand, SALTY AFTERTASTE also has a lot of the things that bug me about vintage teen comedies: namely, the ads would prepare you for a sexy time, but the raunchiness would emerge as gross-out humor (bathroom as much as bedroom) instead. (It's all basically guys talking a good game and joking around, but I definitely learned more about their bodily functions than I needed to know.) There's very little on-camera sex (not a good or bad thing, just something to be aware of), and no real romantic resolutions. The editing is an issue at times; verb tenses shift a lot, and sometimes the story feels a little bit stream-of-consciousness for my taste. A couple of red herrings had me fearing some major plot curveball at the end, but things generally stay breezy here. I'm not sure I feel the need to revisit SALTY AFTERTASTE, but Lloyd's wisecracking intrigues me enough to make me try another story of his.

Three Divisions: Leo SBB

Blurb:
A reverent touch to a set of suede-covered cuffs, and Jillian Dosh unwittingly takes the first step into a world that she never knew existed. Busted while she’s making a stealthy visit to Three Divisions Lifestyle Emporium, Jillian can’t believe she’s face-to-face with her fantasy lover. Much more potent up front and personal, Leo Straton’s commanding presence intrigues and scares her at the same time. Can fantasy become reality?

Recognizing the voluptuous Jillian as the perfect submissive for him, Leo begins a journey to pull her into his world of D/s. She’s innocent, imaginative, strong-willed, and dangerous to his heart. She’s his butterfly—stuck in the chrysalis of the vanilla world and ready to spread her wings. Overcoming her initial hesitancy, Jillian begins to blossom under his tutelage. But an innocent deception may bring this new love to a crashing halt.

Three Divisions, Book 1 ignites the senses, fires up your libido, and makes you crave to be owned by this Dom.

Excerpt:
Hurrying along the walkway, eyes glued to the window, Jillian finally discovered a ten-inch gap between advertisement posters. Cupping her hands against the surprisingly clean glass, she peered inside, stood on tiptoe to see past the shelving, and immediately spotted two men. A quick assessment told her that the one with the gray hair and wrinkled business suit wasn’t a local. The brown leather suitcase leaning innocently against his right leg still carried the airline terminal tag.

Jillian couldn’t help but snort when she glanced to the other one. He was a little younger, wore a wedding ring, and still clung to his glory days as life pulled him kicking and screaming into his forties. The severely faded and tattered USC College T-shirt had seen better days. She wondered how many times his wife had thrown it in the garbage, only to find it among the laundry items the very next day. That could very well explain the small Band-Aid on his left ear. She darted out of sight when the men’s profiles made an appearance.

Glancing down the relatively deserted street, Jillian was surprised to find that the fading sun had finally decided to hide itself, instantly bringing deep shadows to stretch ominously between each dim streetlight—a clear warning sign for the smart people to get their butts home. Only a few businesses across the roadway had yet to turn their exterior lights on, making the surroundings even spookier. She knew she needed to get this over with before the night dwellers burst out from wherever they hid during the harshness of the day and began filling the walkways.

Pushing quickly inside her targeted establishment, Jillian cringed upon hearing the tinkling of bells over the doorway. She reached up and silenced them before they could finish waking up the dead. Crap! Didn’t see that coming.

Dodging to the side of a tall, metal structure, Jillian chanced a quick peek past the edge to see if she’d been discovered or if any other bodies were milling about the interior. Satisfied she only had the two oblivious browsers to contend with, Jillian slithered around several displays and two more short cabinets before she was ensconced behind a thick bookshelf with ample space between shelves to peek out.

Bravado growing by the second, she moved on silent feet along the narrow aisle, eyes locked onto the two men continuing to keep a respectable distance from one another. She quirked a brow. You both might as well have a bulls-eye tattooed on your backs. Not once had they made eye contact, much less taken the time to glance over their shoulders to spot her lurking close at their rear.

Jillian couldn’t help but shake her head as she slid her hand out of her purse, cupped it with the other, and rested her grip on the smooth wood to steady her arms. Maneuvering the red laser dot from one skull base to the next, she considered her targets the proverbial “innocent bystanders” mentioned in every news article about the increasing murder rate in this crazy town. They were oblivious to their surroundings, content in the false knowledge that nothing bad would ever happen to them. Things like that only occurred to other people—a typical last thought of hapless victims.

Oh, well. Reality time.

Kiss of the Incubus SBB

Blurb:
An incubus who feeds off the sexual desires of others, Roth de Lis has never been denied the pleasure of a woman’s body...until now. Lilah, once a warrior maiden in the service of a goddess, languishes on Earth after being cast out from the slopes of Mount Olympus.

Lilah will do anything to return home to Olympus, including betraying Roth. As she spins her web of lies, Roth begins a slow, wicked seduction that eventually threatens to consume them both. But when Lilah’s deceit comes to light, will their torrid love affair be able to overcome a pact with the darkest of gods?

Excerpt:
The moonlight made Lilah hum with power, giving her abilities a much-needed boost. She glanced at Roth, still out on the ground. She didn’t want to reveal her bow and arrows to him, lest he guess where she got them. Anything that gave him any insight into her past was a threat to her future. But there was no other way out. Lilah stilled and summoned her bow. It sprang from her grasp, a wisp of silver growing into the curved tips and taut string. It resonated with power in her hands as she pulled a similarly effervescent arrow from her quiver.

The fury’s wings, translucent and covered in a fine black fur, flapped to keep her hovering above the ground. Lilah noticed the fury examining the markings on her neck. She pointed at Lilah and said, “Not you, servant of Artemis. My master wants the incubus.”

“The incubus is mine. If you want him, you’ll have to go through me first.” The glow of the moon and her instinct made her ready, spoiling even, for this fight. It had been far too long.

“So be it,” the fury rasped before splaying her claws and diving for Lilah. Its battle cry pierced the night.

Lilah rolled to the left and let her arrow fly, punching through the creature’s wing and soaring off into the night. The fury let out a shriek that had blood running from Lilah’s ears. But she didn’t care. She was in her element.

Reaper Mine Review and Giveaway

As the Reaper over Violence, Victor doesn’t do warm and fuzzy. He definitely doesn’t do damsels in distress. Apparently Dante didn’t get that memo when he assigned him to answer the call Elle sent out. And Elle was most defiantly a damsel in distress.

Now if only he could keep her alive long enough to find out who wanted to kill her? And why the hell did the Tribunal want her so badly?

Elle was a demi-goddess. A cursed demi-goddess, and one who had accidentally bound her soul to the Reaper over Violence in order to save her butt from a Freak trying to kill her in a graveyard.

Elle was having a really bad day. And where the hell were all these Freaks coming from anyway?

A war is brewing; the Tribunal wants to possess her. Forces beyond their control keep pulling them apart. And Victor will give his very soul to love her.

Amazon     |     Smashwords

My Review:
3.5 stars

I greatly enjoyed this story. I was drawn in right away, and the book held my attention all the way through. There was a great mix of action and romance and the story absolutely drew me in.

I also liked the characters, though Elle annoyed me a lot in the beginning of the book. However, once she started standing up for herself, I found myself rooting for her throughout the rest of the book.

My biggest complaint about this book was that it desperately needed an editor. Grammar errors, missing words, incorrect punctuation, confusing sentences and more were in the book. All the mistakes drove me up the wall, as they kept dragging me out of the story. This could have been a 4 or even a 5 star read for me if not for all the mistakes that should have been caught through editing.

This book is part of a series, and didn’t have a recap, so some of the terms and background information were lost on me as well. Therefore, I would recommend reading the other books in the series first before reading Reaper Mine in order to get the most out of the story. Nevertheless, you can still read this book without reading the others, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

All in all, the author created a very interesting world in this book that I would love to learn more about. However, I’m not sure if I would want to read the other books in the series if they show the same lack of editing as this book. But, if you can get over the editing (or if the author fixes it) I would highly recommend this book as it is a fun short read.

4 stars

This is a great gift idea. The dome is both simple yet elegant, as well as useful. The only reason I took a star off is because it is a bit pricey than other domes, but the price has gone down since I got it.

The Comfort of Black Review and Giveaway

Though they seem to have everything, Hannah Parks has watched her husband, Dallin, become increasingly distant. Her hope is buoyed when the couple decides to start a family, but what Dallin reveals in his sleep one night rocks Hannah to her core. As she starts to investigate a much darker side of Dallin than she ever knew existed, Hannah peels away the layers of a diseased relationship closely tied to her own abusive past. When Dallin attempts to have Hannah abducted, she is forced to run, doing so with the aid of a man named Black—an ex-con and expert at helping people disappear. Together they must keep Hannah safe from her husband's far-reaching grasp, all the while trying to solve the mystery behind Dallin's sudden violence. Does Hannah's dark family history hold the key to her survival?

The Comfort of Black will appeal to fans of Gillian Flynn, A. S. A. Harrison, and Lisa Gardner.

My Review:
4 stars

For a debut novel, I was very pleasantly surprised. The characters were interesting and well-written, particularly Hannah, who grows into a strong female protagonist throughout the story. The plot was interesting, with plot twists and surprises throughout.

The ending surprised me as I didn’t see it coming, which was a bonus in my book, even though I wasn’t a huge fan of the way the book ended. I also liked how the author added an epilogue that answered all my remaining questions, though I would be interested in seeing even further down the line. I won’t say any more than that, as it would ruin the story.

All in all, this was a strong debut for Wilson and even though I didn’t always like or agree with the author’s writing choices, I would still definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great psychological or mystery read.

My Review:
4 stars

After having surgery on my feet, which messed with my sweat glands, I have issues with foot odor. Nothing I had tried had succeeded in getting rid of the smell for long. However, after using this soap on my feet every time I showered, I noticed that not only did the soap get rid of the odor, it helped keep it away. Not only that, but I noticed that I had fewer issues with my feet after using this soap. For that alone, I would keep using this soap.

I wasn't a huge fan of the smell, but it was okay. Now I don't know how effective this is on athlete's foot or fungal infections since I didn't experience either. My only issues with this product were the viscosity and the price. I received an email recommending using a pouf when using this product since it doesn't have any thickening products in it, making it very easy to overuse and waste the soap which I had a problem with. The price is also a bit high for such a small bottle. I think if you commonly suffer from feet problems such as athlete's foot, fungal infections, or in my case, messed up sweat glands, than the product would be worth the price. All in all though, this was a good product that I would recommend giving a try.

My Review:
1 star

I hate giving low ratings, but I feel that it’s justified here. I followed the instructions on how to fit the mouthpiece, and in a matter of seconds, the plastic trays had melted and twisted together. I contacted the company asking if they could send me a replacement or if there was a way I could still use the whitening kit even without the trays so that I could still see if it would work.

They responded back several days later telling me they would send me some replacement trays. I gave them my address, and waited. It's been two weeks now, and not only did I not hear back from them after giving them my address, I also never received the trays. So, I have been utterly unable to use this whitening kit. I would recommend picking a different product with a more reliable company behind it. Plus, if the trays were able to melt together so quickly in water that wasn't even boiling while following the directions given to me by the company, I don't think I would necessarily want that in my mouth. Maybe it was just a bad mouthpiece out of the batch, but it still makes me wary.

Throwback Thursday - Andrew Grey

Earlier this week, it came to my attention that a favorite author (and friend) of mine is getting ready to publish his 100th book! He was also one of the first M/M authors I read with his paranormal series about satyrs (which is practically impossible to find now apparently). He mainly writes contemporary under his pen name now, but he’s still a fave of mine. So with that being said, I want to congratulate Andrew Grey on such an amazing accomplishment. To celebrate, Andrew has put 20 of his books on sale for $1 each on Dreamspinner Press and Amazon. So if you’ve read his books before or have some on your TBR, now is the time to get them! And if you haven’t read Andrew Grey before, pick up a book and give him a try. You just might find a new favorite author of your own.

Wellness Wednesday - Eye Mask Review

I have issues sleeping, and I have been looking for ways to help myself not only sleep, but also stay asleep. So, I’ve been trying several different eye masks, looking for the best one for me. I reviewed another earlier this year, and so I was looking for something a little different, so long as it still worked. Therefore, I decided to review this mask by Goddess Eye Masks.

Tired of being woken up earlier than expected? Well then get ready for endless nights of being fully rested with our Satin Eye Mask, which comes with a 100% Lifetime Warranty and 100% Money Back Guarantee.

My Review:
3 stars

This was a so-so eye mask for me. While it was comfortable, it didn't block out all the light (or near as much) like others I've tried have. Plus, I couldn't get the mask to stay on my face when I was sleeping, as the thin strings aren't very sturdy or secure. While this was an okay face eye mask, I've found better working or on par masks for even cheaper than this in my local store, much less online. So you can go ahead and give this a try if you'd like, but you might want to go ahead and look for an alternative.

Mage Assassin SBB

Blurb:
Lauren Trinidad is the best private security money in the League of European Nations can buy. She's been trained by her father for her entire life to protect the good guys from the bad. But when the good guys seem to be working for the mad man responsible for blowing the world into chaos and her family is suddenly the bad, she is forced to choose between what she is taught to do and what she thinks is right.

Captain David Trinidad is the best soldier the New Republic of Texas can find to pull off a secret mission that will decide the fate of the small country. He’s been raised in his military family to do anything to help his homeland. But when he discovers he is the only chance at saving someone he loves, he has to choose between the only two things in his life that he's never doubted.

Meagan Trinidad is the best assassin the United Countries of America has for hire. She has walked the tightrope between making her father proud and protecting those she cares about for a while. But when her work threatens to destroy her friends, she must choose between the familial loyalty that has guided her whole life and the promise of being loved for who she is and not what she does.

Excerpt:
“We both know you’re not going to college.” Jacob moved his mouth closer to her ear. “Why are you going to New Haven? To kill my sister?”

“What?” Meagan jerked back to see his face, but he held her too tightly.

“I know what you are, darling.” His voice was so quiet she barely could hear him. “An assassin.”

“That’s not true!” She swallowed, her head spinning. How had he figured it out? Her father was going to be pissed. “I would never hurt Kayla.”

“That may be true, but you have been hunting my brother for years.” Jacob’s hands crept up her body. They stopped on either side of her throat. He pressed harder against her. “Why do you think I’ve been keeping you so close?”

Meagan didn’t say anything. Sliding a hand behind her back, she glared at him. She went for the knife hidden in her waistband.

“I don’t think so, darling.” He grabbed her wrist and twisted it along with the other one above her head, pinning them against the door. She refused to cry out in pain. She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. “I kept you so close I know all of your little tricks. Didn’t you wonder why I cared? You should know by now that I don’t fuck the same girl more than once. I was keeping an eye on you instead of ending you.”

She brought up her knee in a swift movement and hit him in the crotch. He grunted and doubled over in pain. She punched him in the face and pushed him off her. Spinning, she kicked him in the head and knocked him to the floor. She drove her boot into his stomach for good measure.

“Don’t ever threaten me, Jacob Godard,” she whispered in his ear, kneeling over him. “Next time I’ll slit your arrogant throat.”
