Aundes Aura Review Tour

Blurb:
Since their father was taken to the dungeons of the capital city, Eoin and Saera have had to fend for themselves. If Eoin can find an apprenticeship in the capital, they can work on freeing him.

But Saera is afflicted with an evil goddess's light, and when her Aura flares up in the middle of the street, the power-hungry Church Regency are quickly on their heels, keen to eradicate the threat.

With more than the Regency after them, their only hope is to relinquish the Aura. Making alliances they would never have dreamt of, they find themselves swept up into a struggle against the kingdom they once called their own.

Excerpt:
Saera could hear the ruckus in the faraway streets despite sitting in the queen’s spare room. The sounds were uncommon to the dusky light that fell threw her window; there were no voices calling good evening or be careful with that, boy. They were shouts, screams. She leapt from her bed and struggled with the door latch, and when she finally got it open she marched with bare feet towards the queen’s study. From the balcony there she would be able to see what was happening. A silly argument in the street? A boy from the Underground thieving an apple? No, the screams she had heard were of fear, shrill and desperate.

Saera passed the entrance hall, swiftly but quietly, for the queen was downstairs giving orders to the guards, and she wouldn’t have let Saera out of her room if there was anything to worry about. The carpet along the hall was soft against her toes. Before the small set of steps to her right, she was shocked for a moment to see what she’d thought was a guard, only to find that it was the decorative suit of armour that had always been there. She took the steps three at a time and opened the door to the queen’s study. She was certain something was off in Emareus, and if there was, it was her fault. She shouldn’t have been locked away in her stone prison. If they were coming for her, then she should have been down there doing something. This was her fight.

  1. I''m a big fan of the names you chose for your characters. How did you decide what to name them, and are they based off of anyone from your own life??
