Love Lost and Found VBT

Blurb:
Felicity Williams can't remember the last five years thanks to an accident that wiped out her memory. She fled her old life in hopes of starting fresh and found refuge working on a cruise ship. But her past is coming for her…

Rick McCarthy wakes after a climbing accident to discover that his business partner and fiancĂ©e has quit her job and disappeared. He’s trying to accept that she’s run out on him, but now he needs her signature to close a deal that could literally be life or death. He’ll go to any extreme to get what he needs…even if that means becoming someone else to win her back.

But a little lie becomes a large mess when they’re stranded on a deserted island together, and old misunderstandings might ruin their chance at new love…

Excerpt:
George appeared at Felicity’s door with a huge block of chocolate he’d somehow managed to wrangle from the kitchens. “I tried for ice cream but they only had it in twenty-liter tubs. I figured that wouldn’t do either of our figures any good. Have to say I didn’t think I’d be getting a call from you tonight. Certainly not one that started and ended with a command to bring cookies and cream.”

“Why not? I’m thinking of changing my food pyramid to have ice-cream at the top. I might as well go live in a nunnery for all the action I’m about to get.”

He gave her an odd look then rallied. “Oh, sweetcheeks, I think that would be a very bad idea. Can you image the havoc that would cause amongst the visiting monks? And you’d have to cover this glorious hair.”

“It’s hardly glorious. God, I’m a mess. No wonder he doesn’t love me. No one does. No one ever has except my parents and they’re dead. Oh my God, I sound so whiny, I’m never like this. Never.”

“Oh darling. We all love you.”

“Yes, but you have to. I’m in charge of paying you.”

“True. But we don’t have to like you. Here, stop that now, you’re getting blotchy.” George handed her a box of tissues and pushed her gently onto the bed.

Felicity gave a sniff and let her breath shudder out before she allowed herself to talk again. “I think you better hand over that chocolate.”

“That’s my girl.” Ripping open the packaging, George broke off a giant chunk. “I’d give you the whole block, but I think I better stay on ration duty, just till you’ve evened out. Don’t want you going into a sugar coma after you inhale the whole block in less than a minute.”

“Unfair. If a girl can’t ruin herself on chocolate, what’s the point of anything?”

Michele, thanks so much for stopping by. So, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?
Thanks so much for having me! I love meeting new people, especially readers and blog tours are an amazing way of popping in and out of whole communities I haven’t been a part of before, so thanks again.

How did you get started writing?
I used to be a dancer and choreographer and my writing ‘break’ came when I was looking for a location for a new dance work. I was flicking through a historical places pamphlet and found a tiny paragraph about the first lighthouse keeper in New Zealand. The first and female lighthouse keeper. How cool. Her story got hold of me, was joined by two other characters and turned itself into a novel. Coupled with the modest success of that book, the support of my husband and a writing fellowship, I kept at it. Writing is the one thing that just seems to ‘fit’ with me. And that suits me fine. I love it. I wrote that under a different name but when I was on a fellowship I tried my hand at romance as well, something I’d always wanted to do, and loved every second of it!

What was the inspiration for your book?
I went on a cruise as a guest writer giving talks and writing workshops and the whole setting and staff relations felt like they’d stepped out of a book already. I just couldn’t resist the story. That started me writing The Boss and Her Billionaire, and then when more characters just wouldn’t sit down, two other books followed, Love Lost and Found, and to be released early next year, Tempted by the Boss’s Daughter.

What’s the one genre you haven’t written in yet that you’d like to?
Science Fiction. I have written a short story that was very sci fi and even got noticed by some science fiction types which made my day, but to write a whole opus would be really fun. All that world building!

So, what are you working on right now? Got any releases planned, or still writing?
I’ve just had a baby – literally JUST. But after the madness of no sleep and all that babystuff calms down I’ll be back into my surf series. The third book in the Love on Deck series will be out early next year, and then three books about three fabulous young women from the ASP – Association of Surfing Professionals, their lives, loves and loses – as well as their men ( will be coming next.

Alright, now for some totally random, fun questions. Favorite color?     Green
Favorite movie?    Not sure about favorite, but one I can watch over and over is Dirty Dancing, man it’s dated but it’s still true that no one puts baby in the corner…(
Alright, you have one superpower. What is it?
I actually have a super hero name, given to me by my hubby – Gumboot Girl. Do you even call them gumboots over there – or are they Wellingtons? Either way, I’m able to jump large puddles in a single bound – or more superheroly – I’m able to avoid mess and save kittens even in the middle of mighty storms.
You can have dinner with any 3 people, dead, alive, fictitious, etc. Who are they?
I think I’d quite like to meet Helen Mirren, I think she’s got quite a mouth on her or if she wasn’t available maybe Dame Judy Dench (apparently she cross stiches swear words into pillows while on set, so cool), Cleopatra would be intriguing, and cos he might be able to share some good vegetarian recipes as well as, you know, theories on world peace, Gandhi.

Last question: Which of your characters are you most like and how/why?
I’m probably more like Michaela from my last book than many of the other characters I write. I have been a career girl much of my life and was single FOR EVER ( But then things all changed with a woosh when I met my hubby, got married and started having children. I loved my free, travel filled life, but I’m loving where I’m at now, it’s still full of adventure, just of a different kind.

That’s all from me, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!
Thanks again so much for having me!

Author Bio and Links:
Michele was born in the mid 1970’s amid a burgeoning sprawl of vineyards and new retirement homes. With two teachers as parents, her love of reading and books was cemented at an early age. Being a writer however, was not was she was supposed to do when she ‘grew up’. Despite training in law (or perhaps because of it) she has been a dancer, producer, writer, and all round arty type in various countries for most of her life.

Moving into writing full time in 2010 was like being a part of a contemporary romance – perfect! Creating new worlds for her characters, or rather letting those same characters show her their worlds is now a highlight of Michele’s daily life. And falling in love over and over as each hero and heroine allow their true feelings to surface is something very special. What a treat to do it every day! Now back home in New Zealand after travelling extensively, Michele writes from an office where the sound of the tapping keyboard is only rivalled by the whisper of wind in the trees.

  6. That would be an interesting dinner party!
I had to smile at your excerpt. I do not care for chocolate. It's like heresy in my workplace. My co-workers say that this should be a standard interview question--whether or not one eats chocolate and what's the best dessert they make. LOL.
