Birthday Bash Day 13 - BA Tortuga

Now, my next guest and I share a few things in common. You see, we’re both Southerners. And while I’m not quite considered a redneck, most of my mother’s side of my family are all rednecks. Plus, we both share a love of sexy cowboys :) Those are just two of the reasons I love BA and her books. The other reasons...well, I’ll let you read on and figure it out for yourselves.

1.) BA, thanks so much for stopping by. So, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?

Hey darlin'! I'm a redneck girl from northeast Texas living near Austin with my partner of almost 10 years, Julia Talbot. I write cowboys and werewolves, I have pink hair, basset hounds and more ink than not. I am a rodeo fan, a country music fanatic, a Daddy's girl, and a psycho knitter.

2.) How did you get started writing?

I published my first piece more than 30 years ago. I can't remember not writing, to be honest. I've always worked as an artist and a writer and it's what I'll do forever.

3.) Do you have a muse that inspires you? If so, who or what is it?

I have 3, actually — My best friend, Sean Michael, inspires me everyday, encouraging my stories and my voice and being a shoulder to lean on (even if Canada is SO far away). Texas is another huge inspiration for me. I love my home state and the stories it tells me. My partner, Julia, is my biggest muse, though. I need her like a cowboy needs a pickup.

4.) What was the first book you read that greatly affected you?

Alice in Wonderland — when I was little, the language fascinated me, the story made me dream, and I desperately wanted to be the caterpillar when I grew up. I ended up being the Cheshire Cat.

5.) What’s the one genre you haven’t written in yet that you’d like to?

I'd love to write a hard-boiled noir mystery.

6.) Are there any genres you won’t read or write in? Why?

I'll read anything and everything, and I write whatever story needs telling. I'm easy (I know, I know, y'all have heard that already.)

7.) So, what are you working on right now? Got any releases planned, or still writing?

Alpha Call is coming out from Ellora's Cave April 19, which is a m/f paranormal. I'm currently working on a m/m historical, a m/m western, and a m/m/f paranormal before I dive into my m/m distopian western. :D

8.) Alright, one last question. Do you have a favorite memory from your 21st birthday?

My 21st birthday… Hrm… Looks at the calendar... I was living in North Carolina with a soldier. I assume we celebrated…

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

Thank you, darlin', and happy birthday month. I hope you get everything you need.

Wendy doesn’t need any help to get rid of her evil ex. As a cop, she can handle anything life throws at her. Sure of it, even when trying to capture the ex alone puts her friends in danger. Too bad local wolf packalpha Brett has different ideas. He doesn’t care if Wendy wants to be a lone wolf. He has to protect all the werewolves in his town. Including her.
Wendy finds Brett irritating, overbearing, and sexy beyond belief. Brett thinks Wendy is trouble with a capital T and hotter than the dog days of summer. Can these two quit butting heads and work together to capture Wendy’s stalker, or will they fight their intense attraction for each other until it’s too late?

BA is giving away a $10 Amazon gift certificate to celebrate. Leave a comment with you email address to enter. Contest ends April 30.

Author Bio:
Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy's Girl, BA Tortuga spends her days with her basset hounds, getting tattooed, texting her sisters, and eating Mexican food. When she's not doing that, she's writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting and surfing porn sites in the name of research. BA's personal saviors include her partner, Julia Talbot, her best friend, Sean Michael, and coffee. Lots of coffee. Really good coffee.

Having written everything from fist-fighting rednecks to hard-core cowboys to werewolves, BA does her damnedest to tell the stories of her heart, which was raised in Northeast Texas, but is feeling the Colorado mountains calling. With books ranging from hard-hitting GLBT romance, to fiery menages, to the most traditional of love stories, BA refuses to be pigeon-holed by anyone but the voices in her head.
