Blurb:
Jason had sworn to never care for a guy again before taking it slow and easy when it came to the relationship department. He’d chosen poorly once. By the time he walked away his self-esteem had been in shreds.
Z is a dynamic, sensual rock star in the making. His band is hoping to hit the big-time and they’re getting close. He realized long ago his lifestyle had no room for a long-term relationship.
Then Z plays at Boys Will Be Boys, a popular gay club for a charity event, and Jason has a front row table. When their eyes meet it seems destiny has other plans for the two young men. Both tell themselves it can’t work out. They should just enjoy one night of hot sex and move on.
But love insists on entering the scene, just when neither is looking for it.

Smoldering Embers NBtM
"Death is only the
beginning." You hear that all the time. Maybe it is, for the soul who
passes on. But what about the ones who are left behind?
I lost my husband unexpectedly in
a tragic accident and now have to move back to my childhood home in New
Orleans. Thank God for my friends Wesley and Paige. I’d be absolutely lost
without them. As I pick up the pieces of what is left of my life, we settle back
into our old routines. That is until I hire Olivier to work for me. Now my
world is once again turning upside down as the people I’m closest to, old and
new, shed the skin of what is familiar and ultimately redefine the nature of
our relationships. Couple all of this with the return of my debilitating
headaches and ominous dreams of green fire, and well, I’m just at a loss.
What do you do when what you
thought you knew turns out to be wrong? What do you do when you find out you
can’t trust the people closest to you? What do you do when you keep trying to
move forward but life keeps getting in the way? And given all of this, how am I
supposed to figure out who Charlotte Grace is now?
He cut me off and growled, “Im
iam damnari,” under his breath before silencing us both by crushing his lips to
mine. A familiar burn instantly tore
through me, stealing my breath as it singed my skin. I opened my mouth to gasp. He seized the opportunity to invade it, his
tongue lapping at mine hungrily. My
knees buckled and I arched into him, gripping his neck with hands I didn’t even
know had wrapped around him. His arms
supported me as his hands roved and caressed my back, waist, hips, and neck,
restless in their search.
After what seemed like a
lifetime, Olivier stopped just as suddenly as he had begun. My eyes remained closed as I tried to compose
myself. Remembering what he’d said
before the kiss, I asked, “Why?”
“Why what?” he responded through
labored breaths.
I opened my eyes to see that his
were liquid pools of the green fire. And
not in their coloring or meaning that he desired me. Though that was there too. I mean flames. Living, undulating flames were burning in his
eyes; dancing around his pupils. Holy
crap! How is that possible?! All the familiarity snapped into place. The burning I’d experienced from his kiss,
while exciting, was the same as when I had the fire dreams.
I blinked and they were
gone. No smoke. No embers.
No trace. Had they even been
there? I must be crazy. It’s not possible for them to be there. Actual fire doesn’t burn in someone’s
eyes. I’d had quite a bit to drink
tonight. My mind had to be playing
tricks on me. When I let go the image of
my dreams lighting in his eyes I remembered what Olivier had said before he
kissed me.
Thank you so much
for having me. I am a displaced southern
girl living among the mountains in the Pacific Midwest. I have earned degrees in Economics,
Accounting, and Finance (of which, you will find none in my books. Promise!).
I am a huge geek and enjoy many forms of pop culture. Sleepy Hollow, The Avengers, and Game of
Thrones are some of my favorites.
How
did you get started writing?
I started writing
as a way to deal with my grief and anger over the loss of my mother a few years
ago. Tis’ a long story and I don’t want
anyone to think that I didn’t love my mother.
But her death was a bit of a shock and as you can imagine a trying
experience. Being a mother myself, I
made myself take stock of my life, my legacy, and all that I wanted to
accomplish. While I enjoy economics and
finance, I have always held a soft spot for the arts and given my current
lifestyle and circumstances, writing became the best outlet to let loose some
deep seeded emotions in a healthy way.
What
was the inspiration for your book?
The Charlotte Grace
series as a whole is steeped in my life experiences and love for New
Orleans. During that period where I was
looking back over the events of my life, I decided to infuse them into my
writing and give myself some closure.
What turned out as an exercise to improving myself became a catalyst for
a second career.
What’s
the one genre you haven’t written in yet that you’d like to?
Science
Fiction. I love Michael Crichton and all
he could accomplish in a story. I have
an idea but because it is so outside my normal knowledge base, it is going to
take some time and research to fulfill.
Are
there any genres you won’t read or write in? Why?
Horror. I have nothing against the genre. It’s that I have an overactive imagination on
my own and tend to always see the worst possible outcome. I mean like, say my doorbell rings and I’m
not expecting anyone to stop by. My
mind, all on its own, will just go to, “What are my best defenses if that is a
crazed killer on the other side?” I will
hide my kids in a closet before answering.
No joke. So see, I don’t need any
help in that regard.
So,
what are you working on right now? Got any releases planned, or still writing?
So I started
writing in January 2013. By June, the
Charlotte Grace series was completed and I self-published the first one in
September. By November, I was picked up
by an indie author publishing house for the whole series but had already
completed the first book to my second series, the Empathy Delacroix series. By July 2014, the entire Grace series had
been release, the Delacroix series completed, and my first standalone novel,
The Underground completed. My publisher
picked up the next four books and we released The Underground in late
October. We are currently working
through the edits for Delacroix and I am writing the second book of my third
series, the Octavia Howard series, now.
Alright,
now for some totally random, fun questions. Favorite color?
Purple
Favorite
movie?
Some Like It Hot
Book
that inspired you to become an author?
Alice In Wonderland
Alright,
you have one superpower. What is it?
Inspire
self-acceptance
You
can have dinner with any 3 people, dead, alive, fictitious, etc. Who are they?
Joss Whedon,
Michael Crichton, Jack Lemon
Last
question: Which of your characters are you most like and how/why?
It’s a toss up
between Charlotte Grace and Empathy Delacroix.
Charlotte embodies what I hope are the best aspects of myself. My outlook on life and people and faith and
love. Empathy is probably a little
closer to who I actually am. She’s still
a pretty nice character but not quite as nice as Charlotte.

Seven Day and Six Worst-Case Scenarios Review Tour
Mix
dry wit with a juicy corpse and let it simmer over a red hot romance to serve
up a wicked comedy.
Curious,
quirky, crisis consultant Victoria Douglas needs a vacation, and to learn to
keep her sassy mouth shut. Instead, she’s gunning a stolen SUV up a mountain
with beer cans and bug spray as her only weapons in a fight for survival. She
and her investigative reporter friend, Julie Tran, have landed in a Caribbean
vacation crap-sandwich bursting with murder, narcotics, and one gorgeous piece
of man-flesh.
College
flame, Alex Marshall, professed his love and disappeared without a trace.
Twelve years later he materializes at Victoria’s resort on St. Kitts and he’s
got more charm and sex appeal than ever. Tingling lady bits and long-buried
feelings aside, Victoria discovers she and Julie are at the center of a
criminal conspiracy that stretches across two continents. They’ve got one
chance to prove their innocence before competing nefarious factions feed them
to the fish…or worse. Victoria has to decide just how far she is willing to go
to save her life and mend her heart.
If
I hadn’t been fighting for my life with beer cans, bug spray, and pent-up
aggression as my only weapons, you probably wouldn't want to read about me.
After all, a thirty-something woman with two cats and a boss who can’t keep his
hands off his crotch is rarely worth noticing. But, this woman was gunning a
stolen SUV up a mountain goat path with a monkey in the back seat screeching
“Kek-kek-kek.” His owner was screaming something about his own head colliding
with the roof. My friend Julie was in the passenger’s seat ordering me to slow
down. Good thing I was accustomed to people complaining about my driving
because we had much larger issues than my dislike for the brake pedal.
The
order for this Caribbean vacation crap-sandwich was placed when a travel
magazine addressed to me, Miss Victoria Douglas, landed on my desk during a
particularly bad day. I looked at the cover and called the only person I knew I
could count on. Julie Tran had been a loyal friend since middle school. One
feature story about St. Kitts, a short conversation with Julie, and a few
Internet clicks had me vomiting in the toilet at work. I’d just spent my
mortgage payment on a plane ticket.
My Review:
4 stars
What
a fun, zany read this was. I couldn’t stop laughing while reading (which definitely
got me some odd looks), and I was continuously looking forward to what was
coming next. The book was well-written (especially for a first-time author),
the characters lovable and engaging, and the plot interesting and humorous.
The
only downside for me was the romance. While there was chemistry between
Victoria and Alex, I felt that the relationship between Victoria and her best
friend was the best relationship in the entire book. Their witty banner and shenanigans
took front stage for me, and the romance had a hard time competing, which would
be fine except for the fact that this is supposed to be a romance novel.
Other
than that, I loved this book and highly recommend it. It’s a great read, and if
you’re looking for your upcoming next summer read, I recommend giving this a
try.

DOWNPOUR
(Weathering #1)

Weathering one of the fiercest storms of your life can seem almost impossible, but once you’re through it, things can be a whole lot brighter. Markus Simmons, a pre-med student who moonlights as a barista, narrates as he and his long-time crush, Clinton Stewart, learn more about themselves and what they’re willing to go through to heal and be together.
It took weeks before Markus knew his crush’s name. It took months of serving him coffee every morning before Markus learned that Clinton was an American History major. It took nearly six months into their senior year at UC Davis before Markus accidentally found out that Clinton had no family, few friends, and rather than the dorms, he actually lived in the library.

Trix’s Review:
4 stars
DOWNPOUR is told from the perspective of Markus, a premed student who has a day job as a barista. The first third of the book is a very sweet, slow-simmering portrayal of his longtime crush on Clinton and their shy flirtation. Both he and Clinton are sympathetic guys, and the start of their relationship feels almost cozy. The emotional stakes get ramped up as the plot turns increasingly serious, and it's compelling to see how the two weather some very real challenges. (Some reviewers have mentioned a few points that seem implausible. As a caffeine addict myself, I know how pricey a daily latte habit can be, so it's strange that Clinton can frequent a coffee house but lack basic living amenities and a means of support. A UC Davis student mentioned on Goodreads that the campus policies affecting Clinton are portrayed inaccurately in the story. I wasn't bothered by that, but I'm sure I would have been if I knew more about the campus.) I appreciated the attention spent on developing the side characters, especially Markus's roommates Jesse and Peter (who are also a couple). I actually thought that DOWNPOUR was a sequel to an earlier book starring Jesse and Peter, because so much time was spent on their backstory. (It is a compelling one, and I would have read that book.) I also like the characterization of Tyson, a one-time competitor for Markus' affections who turns out to be a valuable friend to both guys. The story isn't perfect, but I enjoyed getting to know this couple and their friends.

So one of
my New Year’s Resolutions was to start taking care of my health. I started a
transformation workout challenge, which combines eating healthier and
exercising. Along with this, I was asked to review this brand of garcinia
cambogia extract. Now I’ve been reluctant to attempt to use these type of
weight-loss supplements, but since I was already starting a program, I figured
I would give them a try.
I’ve been
using this for 3 weeks now and I didn’t really notice much of a difference. While
I didn’t notice any negative side effects, I also didn’t really notice any
positive ones either. The little weight I’ve lost is mostly due to my diet and exercise
changes, and my appetite hasn’t been suppressed. I’ve heard great things about
garcinia cambogia before, but it just didn’t work for me.
I
received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com.
Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe
will be good for my readers.

Excerpt:
His
grim expression softened. Barely. “You know who I am.”
“Who
are you?” I asked again, more a demand than a question.
“The
man who keeps saving your ass.” He looked my way, and I got my first glance at
his face. The skin surrounding his eye boasted several shades of purple and
blue. His nose definitely didn’t look right, and three large scratches
stretched from his left eye to below his cheekbone. Not bad for my first shot
at kicking someone’s ass. Instinct urged me to reach over and offer comfort. I
tucked my hand under my leg to keep it from such betrayal.
“Why
were men shooting at you?” I asked, unable to cloak the seething anger in my
tone.
“They weren’t.”
“Now
you’re not making sense.”
“You
have to trust me.”
“How
in the world can you ask me to do that? Why is there a collage of me on your
wall?”
Franklin’s
lips drew into a tight line. The muscles in his jaw protruded.
“Classified?”
I asked, fed up with the way the conversation was going.
“Yes.”
My
pressure gage blew. I buried my face in my hands and screamed. “Take me back to
the police station. I can’t be near you. I’d rather rot in a cell.”
“I’m
afraid I can’t do that.” His voice remained calm.
I
pulled on the door handle. “I’ll jump out if you don’t start talking. Why were
men shooting at you?”
“They
weren’t aiming for me, Killer. You were the target.”
