Sinners & Saints: A Patriot's Manifest Book Blast

Blurb:
My name is Zoey Major and I live in Fort Star, New Jersey. I am also a survivor in the zombie apocalypse. Seems very cut and dry but I have been hiding something- like really huge. My secret is game changing. I am not like the others... I know, what a surprise twist! Unfortunately, I can’t tell you why I am different. If you really want to know, you have to figure it out. Hey, even in these dark times, a girl needs her secrets.

Excerpt:
United we... united we... we were supposed to stand together as a society but it did not work out like that. The United States and much of the world, actually went to sh*t for a little bit when the zombies came. Perhaps the only saving grace was the fact that man learns to adapt. We always do. A prime example would be the invention of the wheel, the television or even a toaster pastry because why the f*ck not eat something bad for you?

For you see, if man has a want or desire, it may take years, but he'll invent it. One thing I am still waiting on is that damn time machine. I am looking at you, Doc Brown. Ha! However, not all inventions should ever leave the paper. Sometimes an idea is just an idea as biological weapons rarely ever make anything better. Yeah, perhaps not every weapon should be tested or even used, as the results can't always be contained. United we... united we... we were supposed to stand together.

Present Day, June 30, 10:25 pm
Catey: "So is it cool that I sign you up for speed dating?"
Zoey: "What? No, f*ck no."
Catey: "Why not?"
Zoey: "There should be no speed dating in the zombie apocalypse."
Catey: "It's post apocalypse so get it right."
Zoey: "For now."
Catey: "And this is why you are single. You are so negative."
Zoey: "Huh, I didn't know that was the reason. I just thought it was because every eligible bachelor who isn't a toad has been either taken or eaten but hey, maybe I am wrong."
Catey: "I think it's because you put up a wall."
Zoey: "Stop analyzing me, or at the very least give me a Rorschach test or at the very least a crossword puzzle to pass the time then."

My Review:
3 stars

I had a hard time reviewing this book. On the one hand, it is very unique and an interesting storyline. On the other, there were some serious flaws that kept me from enjoying the story as much. To start with, this is unique in that the book is written as a mix of a play and a diary entry. This made for some interesting reading, and definitely kept me on my toes. I don’t mind reading a play/diary entry as long as it works, and the author does make it work. However, this format also hurts the story. Even though Zoey is the narrator and it’s her diary, I didn’t really get a great feel for her as a character and had difficulty connecting with her, something I thought would have been easier to do since these are her diary entries. Plus, the format did take a bit to get used to. I adjusted fairly quickly first because I’ve participated in several plays and because I read the most recent Harry Potter book, so it wasn’t too bad for me, but this could definitely throw some people off.

As for the plot, it was definitely a different take on the typical zombie novel, which I appreciated. Plus I loved the quirky writing style. It worked well with the story and helped keep the story moving and keeping me captivated. However, even on the writing I felt conflicted. Because while there were quirky and fun moments, there were also moments where the writing was awkward or there were grammar mistakes that took me out of the story. So again, I feel conflicted by this. All in all though, I enjoyed this book, even with its flaws. I could definitely see how this is a YA novel, and I think I might have appreciated it more if I had first read this in middle school, since I would probably have had an easier time of connecting with Zoey. If you can get past the format, I do recommend trying this book because it is unique and fun and I would love to see more stories like this.

The Christmas Cookie Shop Book Blast

Blurb:
Come home this Christmas to…

CHRISTMAS TOWN, TENNESSEE

Where everyday dreams come true!

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Ginny Baird brings you the start of a brand new holiday series…

THE CHRISTMAS COOKIE SHOP
(Christmas Town, Book 1)

Hannah Winchester is down on her luck and disillusioned with love, but her fortunes are about to change. When Hannah inherits a defunct bakery in East Tennessee, her first thought is to sell it and settle her substantial debt. Then the townsfolk welcome her warmly and she’s taken with the joyful spirit of the place, where stores employ holiday themes and residents have surnames like Christmas and Claus. After a handsome lawman comes to her aid dressed as Santa, Hannah learns he’s more than a hot guy in a red suit and shiny black boots. Sheriff Carter Livingston has joined in the cause of rejuvenating the town, and he’s encouraging her to do her part. Hannah’s great-grandmother, Lena, sold special holiday cookies that brought hope and renewal to the people of Christmas Town. Yet Hannah has plans elsewhere and isn’t looking to stay. Can she possibly reopen the shop known for kindling romance—without sacrificing her heart?

Excerpt:
The last turn she took was supposed to lead straight to the town roundabout, the one that connected with South Main Street. Hannah had been told to watch for a flagpole, the courthouse, a library, and a big town sign. But all she saw ahead of her in these near-whiteout conditions was more snow! That’s when a flashing blue glimmer in her driver’s side mirror caught her eye. Thank goodness! Help has arrived. It had to be a cop figuring her for a distressed motorist. Hannah certainly couldn’t get any more distressed than this.

Hannah hadn’t journeyed to Tennessee for a leisurely visit. She’d inherited a business she knew absolutely nothing about, and she was determined to sell it at the first opportunity. She tried to imagine herself running a cookie shop, but just couldn’t. The only picture that came to mind involved huge plumes of black smoke curling out an open doorway. Where some people had a brown thumb in the garden, Hannah wore a charred oven mitt in the kitchen. She couldn’t even microwave popcorn without the bag catching fire.

Hannah spun in her seat to better view the approaching figure in dark clothing. No, wait. It’s a matching red tunic and slacks worn beneath an open field coat. The full silhouette of a man emerged from a snowy swirl and Hannah’s heart thumped. It wasn’t just any outfit; it was a Santa suit. Though she’d never seen Old Saint Nick looking quite like that. Rather than being short and stout, he was tall and built, with an obviously solid chest and a manly jaw thinly disguised by a fake white beard. A Santa hat sat slightly askew on his head, partially covering short brown hair. He strode to her driver’s side window in shiny black boots and tapped on the glass. Hannah goggled at the apparition, then lowered her window a crack.

Evergreen eyes peered in at her and Hannah caught her breath. She didn’t even know eyes came in that color. They reminded her of Christmas trees: the really fresh kind, not the plastic sort that normally stood on an end table in the corner of her apartment.

“Everything okay in there? I saw that you’d pulled over. No wonder, really.” Little lines crinkled around his eyes, lending them warmth beneath the wind’s chill. “Given the weather.” He tugged off his fake beard and stuffed it in his pocket, exposing a rugged face.

Whoa, he was a good-looking Santa. She judged him to be a few years older than her but not more than five. As if his age mattered! Hannah wasn’t in Tennessee to stay and she certainly wasn’t in the market for a man. She’d had enough boyfriends to last her, thank you very much. And every…single…one of them had let her down. Love. Just one more four-letter word that had been canned from her vocabulary.

Review: Charming: A Charming Book One by Andi Lawrencovna

Once upon a time...

Prince Christophe can’t die. Or, more precisely, if he dies, so does his country. But that hasn’t stopped the King from hosting a ball. And it hasn’t stopped Kit’s enemies from seeking a quick end between the quadrille and the waltz.

The Children of the Wood hold out hope that their Assassin Queen will fulfill the prophecy and end Kit’s life. But when Ella vies for the prince’s attention, it’s not a knife that pierces his heart, or her own.

One waltz at a ball. One trip of a slipper. One Prince. And one Assassin.

In the world of the Never Lands, Fairy Tales aren’t quite like you remember.

My Review:
4 stars

I greatly enjoyed Charming. To start, you are thrown straight into the story, skipping the get-to-know-you between Ella and Christophe, which I wasn't expecting. The action keeps rolling from there and never lets up until the end. While the pacing was a bit rough and awkward at times, overall the story worked. The plot was thought out and engaging. I couldn't put the book down while reading. The best part for me was how the romance between Ella and Christophe is a slow boil. We really get to see those two deal with their inner struggles (and some cringy interactions), which made me feel like I really got to know those two. The story does have a cliffhanger/HFN ending which will be continued in the second book, so you definitely need to read the books in order.

While I enjoyed Charming and the way it is written, it unfortunately doesn't always work. Due to the nature of throwing people straight into the action with no setup, books like this sometimes run into issues with having a lot of confusion or a lot of telling rather than showing. Unfortunately, that ended up happening here. Different countries, races, religions, etc. are mentioned at times in the story, but not explained in the story. There are extensive appendixes at the end of the book explaining the different countries, religions, peoples, etc. While I did like having these appendixes, it was a huge info dump at the end of the book. Details in the appendixes would have been helpful to know while reading the story, and I would have liked to see the author include more of that information in the story in a more organic way (showing) rather than just telling us in an info dump at the end of the book. There are also sections where the author inserts herself and her thoughts into the story. I'm divided on my overall feelings about that, but it was very interesting and unusual.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed this story and highly recommend giving it a try. While the book did have its flaws, the story is engaging and fun, the characters are a blast, and the worldbuilding is gorgeous. As for me, I cannot wait to read book 2 to find out what happens to Ella and Christophe next.

The Variant Conspiracy Review Tour

Blurbs:
In Irina's Cards

Irina Proffer leaves mundane small-town life behind when she experiences visions inspired by a strange deck of tarot cards. To get answers, she travels from her northern British Columbia home to the province’s coastal capital. She quickly discovers a world of fringe genetic science and supernatural mystery.

Working for Innoviro Industries, Irina is drawn in by a powerful first love and compelling, yet dangerous questions about the nature of the company’s business. Meeting other 'variants' brings Irina closer and closer to the dark truth about her origins. She finds herself at the heart of two overlapping love triangles as she scrambles to escape her employer's grip. Before she leaves the city, Irina realizes she has merely scratched the surface of a frightening conspiracy on a global scale.

The Compendium
Irina and her renegade variant friends are scrambling to pick up the trail of their former employer, Ivan, and his globally catastrophic scheme. After strategically sharing their story with the media, the group heads south from Vancouver to Seattle hoping to recruit more experienced—and lethal—variants to their cause.

Their attention develops a laser focus on an engineered disaster mere days ahead of them. Ivan is using what staff and resources remain of Innoviro Industries to set off a violent earthquake in San Francisco. While they fight to stop the earthquake, Irina pushes the love of her life Jonah as far away as she can, trying to keep his unstable genetic degradation in check.

Irina’s friends think they’ve seen the worst that Innoviro could bring forth by the time they reach a secret facility in the Mojave Desert. As they near the property, the group uncovers a horror none of them had ever imagined.

Terra Nova
The end of humanity and an unrecognizable future Earth are now days away. After their first glimpse of the Terra Nova virus, Irina and her variant friends know their former employer’s plans are almost at hand. Their failed attempt to publicize Ivan and Innoviro Industries’ horrific activities has left them utterly reliant on their own wits and weapons.

After surviving a catastrophic earthquake in San Francisco and destroying a secret viral testing facility, Irina’s crew has traveled by a variant portal to London. On the other side of the world, they begin tracking when and where Terra Nova will be unleashed on the world. They know stopping Terra Nova is only the beginning of unraveling Ivan’s plans to reinvent the planet, but if they can’t stop this virus, there will be no one left to save.

Excerpt from In Irina’s Cards:
Author’s Note: This section is taken from Ch. 4. Irina is still coming to terms with the fact that ‘variant’ really means mutant with a noticeable gift or ability. We get a chance to see Irina having a vision. And we get a first glimpse at the variations in three other core characters.

I followed Jonah through the wrought iron gate and looked up at the oak tree on the lawn next to the patio. Tiny fresh leaves and new buds covered the gnarled old tree. It was also home to dozens and dozens of sneakers, canvas shoes, skate shoes, oxfords – basically any kind of shoe with laces to tie together.

The air felt warm enough to linger, so I walked over to the tree and looked upward. I smiled. I reached up to one of the lower branches and touched one of the shoes. The yard and the tree melted away. I saw the face of a girl with faintly bluish skin and platinum hair. She turned and I saw two leather-like wings flex and relax. Her shirt had been cut to make room for her wings which stretched out past the frayed edges of the fabric. She was standing in a sewer or catacomb.

Faces milled around the winged girl. It wasn’t quite like a party, maybe more like a camp. An older lady standing next to the winged girl reached down to the ground. She pinched the concrete and plucked something, maybe a stone, off the surface. The stone wriggled. It was a camouflaged beetle, exactly like the one I’d seen on my first day in the city. She lifted the beetle to her mouth and I reeled back.

The yard outside Cymbals surrounded me again in a blink. Jonah stared at me. I noticed my arm had stayed raised beneath the shoes and withdrew it.

“Are you all right?”

I heard fear in his voice.

“Rubin mentioned that you were psychic, but I never knew what it actually looked like. I mean, I’ve never witnessed anyone ‘see’ something if that makes sense.”

“Oh, I … what does it look like? It’s still pretty new for me. I’ve always been alone when that happens, but I hadn’t even wondered what somebody watching me gets to see.”

“You looked sort of, gone. And then your eyes rolled back for a moment. I thought you were having a seizure.”

I looked around the yard and fortunately we were alone. Still, I didn’t want to keep talking about this stuff where we could be overheard. More importantly, what was Rubin doing sharing my personal information while giving me his best poker face?

“Let’s go inside. I’m hungry.” I didn’t much feel like sitting down to a social night anymore.

Cole waved from a table on the other side of the building. Sitting next to him, a girl with purple dreadlocks looked up from her purse and smiled.

The restaurant was full and the combined conversations created a loud chatter. Dim candlelight, a few glass chandeliers, and an antique-looking piano in the corner set a romantic atmosphere that sparked another twinge of embarrassment. On the other hand, the abstract and industrial mixed media wall décor had me looking around for art and film students. Aside from a few biker bars, the edgiest hangout I knew of in Prince George was an indie coffee shop – and it had only been open for a few years when I left.

We made our way around and between tables. Everyone in the restaurant looked like an artist or an intellectual. I felt like an ugly duckling in my plain, boring clothes, but I was glad for the first time since starting my new job that not all of the blue dye had gone from my hair. Jonah reached the table and pulled out a chair for me. We sat down and Cole scowled.

“Dude, what’s up with the timeline fail? We’ve been here for like, half an hour,” said Cole.

“Ignore his attitude. I’m Faith,” the girl said as she extended her hand to me and grinned happily. The flickering light glinted off a stud in her nose and a ring in her eyebrow. She wore dark makeup on her eyes and mouth. She had the same coffee brown eyes as Cole. I couldn’t tell if it was her features or the eyeliner and lipstick, but she looked striking in a bold, exotic way. As we shook hands, her gaze shifted over to Jonah.

We looked at our menus in awkward silence, waiting for a server, sipping our water. I sighed and put down my menu. I could feel Cole’s eyes on me as I watched Faith stare at Jonah, the only person still looking at his menu. I gave in and glanced back at Cole briefly with a small smile. This was all heading in the wrong direction. The time for tact expired along with my patience.

“So I take it we’re all mutants here,” I said casually.

Jonah sprayed water onto his menu and coughed. Cole looked at me urgently. Faith’s mouth made a small ‘O’ under her confused frown.

“Seriously, I came here, to Victoria, because I started having visions of this place and I wanted answers. All I’ve gotten is cryptic nonsense. Other than meeting you people, I’ve learned next to nothing. Rubin is all vague double-talk. It’s getting old. I want to know what you all know.”

Jonah looked at me and took a breath as if to say something. He decided against it and looked around our corner of the restaurant. Nobody paid any attention to us. He placed his hand over the droplets of water on his laminated menu. The water coalesced into puddles under his palm. As he concentrated on the small pool, it lifted off the menu and spread into a donut shape. The circle broke and the stream became a spiral, getting thinner and thinner until it evaporated into steam, absorbed into Jonah’s hand.

Faith’s frown turned into a smile as she looked at Jonah. She picked up one of the unlit candles on our table and pinched the wick between her thumb and forefinger. As she released it a flame sprang to life.

“Well, I’m not breaking this table, that’s for damn sure,” said Cole.

“That’s okay. I saw your street-fight with that bouncer when I first got to town,” I said.

Cole rolled his eyes, but I couldn’t worry about his temper. I wanted to keep talking about Innoviro and Ivan. “So, now that we’re making progress, albeit moving into some surreal comic book world, tell me what’s the deal with Innoviro. What the hell does this company really do?” I felt my adrenaline rise.

Ever Tempted Blurb Blitz

Blurb:
An infinity of lives, only one eternal love . . . .

When Cole Kinsley asked Allie Knowles for her hand in marriage, he meant it. Death be damned. Nothing could keep them apart, not even a hundred years or more. Not even the vindictive spirit of Allie’s dead sister Grace. Released from her watery grave, she offers Cole a devil’s bargain. But to Cole, no price is too high when it comes to his beloved.

Allie thinks it’s almost too good to be true. A week of bliss alone with Cole. His promise kept, after all they’ve suffered at the hands of her sister. To feel the strength of his arms around her again. But when she learns of the sacrifice he made to be with her, she plunges into despair. Forever has slipped from their grasp—unless forever apart is their true destiny . . .

Excerpt:
Straightening my tie, I walked around the corner. Smiling people held glasses, discussed life issues, and nodded amicably in my direction.

Who’s that? one woman thought.

He’s a looker, another thought.

I wish I had this girl’s money. At least she’s doing something for the community. I really shouldn’t be envious. A blonde stared toward the right corner of the patio.

Holding a wineglass and smiling, Allie stood in a circle of about twenty people, men in black suits and women in flashy dresses. As much as she had worried about fitting in, she settled nicely with her surroundings. Allie’s benefactor, the late Ava Rollins, would have run the first car out of the drive. She hated visitors.

The whispering crowd hushed, parting like the Dead Sea as I approached Allie.

She hadn’t noticed the decrescendo of voices, as she gestured and nodded.

The women’s thoughts were almost synonymous.

She’s so sweet; you can’t hate her for having it all.

We’ll be great friends. I can tell.

I can’t believe I thought she’d be snooty.

She’s gorgeous. Doesn’t even need that makeup. Pay attention to what she’s saying. Quit lusting, Bill. The guy’s thoughts were considerably more troubling, but this was something I’d have to contend with in loving a woman as strikingly beautiful as Allie was, inside and out. So tonight I wouldn’t kick anyone in the throat.

Who could blame them? Hadn’t I responded the same way?

I stood five feet behind Allie as she continued in light, happy conversation. She rarely wore her hair up. It was the fashion when we’d first met in the late 1860s, and though it was appealing, tonight, loose curls fell down her back.

Why is everyone looking behind me? Her heart rate steepened and an instant swell of pheromones thickened the air. Is he here? Allie straightened and glanced around.

Excerpt:
Hades scratched one of Cerberus’s heads, while the other two vied for attention; serpentine tongues slithered out of mouths harboring razor-sharp teeth. A loyal watchdog to the Underworld, Cerberus prevented the dead from leaving and the living from entering. With a final rub, Hades dismissed the monstrous beast, absently watching as he padded away on lion’s paws, the distinct rattle of serpent tail and long mane of snakes making his ferocious presence widely known.

Hades grinned as he strode forward, boots crunching on jagged pieces of rock and bone. The charmed design he’d sent to the last born demi-goddess had been opened. He’d sent it under the guise of one of his servants—despite initial objections—along with a concealed spell courtesy of Deimos to further aid her transformation. His mind drifted to the veiled conversation he had with the god. Deimos would be both furious with him and indebted. Focusing back on Layla, he chuckled. Once she wielded the spelled halberd, she would be unable to resist its dark influence.

He rubbed his hands together, and a deep laugh rumbled from his chest. Why was Zeus so wary? As each sister succumbed to the curse, his larder of souls filled. If they beat the prophecy it hardly affected him. Either way, he benefitted.

Crossing the threshold to his lair, Hades stood in front of the enormous stone-lined fireplace. His thoughts shifted to his beloved wife, Persephone. Six months is too long. An ache that had taken residence throbbed in his chest. He absently rubbed it, missing her luxurious hair and curvaceous body. Most of all, he longed for the way her mere presence soothed his soul, the sound of her laugh, and how he lost time itself gazing into the fathomless depth of her luminous, brown eyes.

A flash of light drew his attention, and irritation spiked his blood. Zeus. By the look in his brother’s stormy gray eyes, this was not a social call. Hades bit back a growl, and instead replaced it with a grin. “What brings you to my world?”

Zeus snorted, his grip on his lightning bolt tightening fractionally, before a calculating gleam flashed across his turbulent features. “Someone needs to remind you about the five. If they aren’t stopped, our lives may be at stake.”

Hades strolled past his brother, amusement coloring his words as he spoke. “That’s very dramatic, even for you. I realize you’re the one who angered the Fates, but five meager demi- goddesses—scratch that I believe it’s four now since one beat the curse—hold an infinitesimal threat to gods such as us.”

My Review:
4 stars

I enjoyed this book. The author's style was easy to read and the book was well edited, a relief for me. There was a lot going on, yet it all managed to come together in the end. I was also pleasantly surprised at the worldbuilding in this book. The mythology was well researched and integrated, but the additional details and characters, particularly Layla and her sisters, were well developed as well. The only downside to this is that you're thrown straight into the action of the story, which probably would have made more sense if I had read the first book. Nevertheless, I was still able to follow along with the story, but I recommend reading book 1 first.

Speaking of the characters though, I have to admit, it took me a bit to get to like Layla. While I liked that she was a strong, independent woman, she was also quite frankly annoying at times. I get that she's a demi-god, which brings with it a certain attitude and arrogance, but for some reason, it just rubbed me the wrong way. There were times where I was shocked Thaull didn't give up on her. He has the patience of a saint because I don't know anyone else who would have put up with all Layla's crap. However, Layla did grow on me and improve as a character, and I liked her and Thaull's overall journey together.

While I do recommend giving this book a try if you're looking for a good paranormal romance, I do recommend starting with book 1, Hidden, before reading Taken.

Review: Hard as Stone by Sara Brookes

Brady McConnell thrives on saving patients in his busy emergency room, but a handful of failures send him tumbling over the edge of sanity. There to catch him is real estate mogul, Garrett Stafford. Brady has always been jealous of Garrett's carefree attitude toward life, love and sex, but through the good and the bad, his sexy-as-hell best friend has always been at Brady's side.

All the money in the world can't buy Garrett the one thing he wants the most--Brady. But seeing Brady broken and exhausted on a busy, snow-covered Chicago street just days before Christmas is the last straw. Garrett finally gives in to the temptation that has haunted him for years and shows Brady there's more to life than rescuing those in need.

Roused by their desperate passion for one another, their desire reaches an explosive breaking point. Brady realizes one night isn't enough, but the always secretive Garrett is bound by rules he can't change. Now Brady's healing touch may save more than just a life...it may just save Garrett's soul.

My Review:
2.5  stars

I have very mixed feelings about this story. While parts of it worked for me, others didn’t. To start with, the writing was good, but there was one part of it that really threw me off, the switches between thought and reality. Thoughts would be randomly thrown in, with nothing to separate them from everything else going on. Sometimes it was easier to figure out that it was a thought, but a few times I had to go back and re-read the paragraph to decipher what was what, which really took me out of the story. On the other hand, the characters were well developed and interesting, especially Brady. I really felt for Brady and felt that I got to know and connect with him and his struggle. It was also interesting to get to learn about Garrett, though there were mysterious tidbits that were introduced (like what happened with his family) but never explained, which made it hard for me to really connect with him.

For the plot, the story started off well. We got to see Brady’s breakdown and what led up to it, as well as getting background information on Brady and Garrett. The story drew me in at this point because a lot was going on, which kept the story moving quickly. As it went along though, it slowed down for me and became an in-depth romance, which I normally like, but didn’t work as well for me here. I just couldn’t get behind it, partially because Garrett was still a mystery and partially because the story went from being a getting to know you romance to an extended sex scene. While the sex was hot, it went on long enough that I found myself skipping ahead to try and see what would happen next in their relationship. I then ran into my biggest issue with the book.

My biggest issue came in the end when I wasn’t able to suspend disbelief. Brady’s entire world is crashing down around him yet one night is enough to magically fix everything and give Brady an entire new look on life? I find this extremely difficult to believe and unrealistic. I’ve been in a similar position before and it took a long time for me to work things out, yet it’s magically fixed in one day for Brady. I might have been able to suspend disbelief and go along with this if there were a magical reasoning behind this (fated mates, spell, etc.), yet the paranormal aspect is played down and doesn’t really play a large role in the story. The story started out so well and I thought it was going to become more of a hurt/comfort story, where we saw their relationship develop while Brady healed. Yet it was rushed at the end, which I felt was a disservice since the story started out so well. However, I did like Brady’s reaction to Garrett’s big reveal as it was different than what I was expecting and worked for the story.

While I think the book showed a lot of promise, it just didn’t deliver for me. As I said above, a lot of the beginning deals with their relationship as friends and then beginning a romantic relationship, and then we practically skip to a HEA that’s more of a HFN because it left a giant elephant in the room in regards to their future working out. I think the book would have been much better if more time was spent in the middle/end of the book developing Brady and Garrett’s relationship as a romantic couple after they decided to give it a try instead of just in the beginning. I decided to give this 2.5 stars because while I did enjoy certain parts of the story as well as its potential, I was left underwhelmed and a bit disappointed by the end.
