Sprawled in the dainty rocking chair, Elijah Deacon overwhelmed the room. Booted feet crossed at the ankle. Blue jean clad legs stretched for miles and hugged lean hips. The light blue cotton tee shirt molded to Elijah's thick chest and broad shoulders. Perched like a tiny angel, Hope lay curled in a miniature ball on that massive chest. One large hand cradled her diapered bottom.

They both slept, if the matching snores were any indication. Seth eased closer, drawn to them. He desperately wanted to crawl into Elijah's lap and have the man's other arm wrapped around him.  As if drawn by his thoughts, his gaze flicked to where Elijah's hand lay in his lap clutching something white.  Another step and he swallowed hard. Elijah held the picture of the three of them, his thumb resting just below the likeness of Seth.
Elijah shifted and Seth's gaze snapped upward. The hand on Hope's bottom tightened as if reassuring himself she still lay there. Behind closed lids, Elijah's eyes moved. Those lush lips parted.

"Seth." His name tumbled from Elijah's mouth, freezing him where he stood. When several seconds passed, and the large man settled back into sleep, Seth dared moved closer. The urge to touch overcame him. He reached out a trembling finger and traced it down the curve of Hope's back. She snuffled and burrowed closer into her father's chest. Seth smiled. She was so precious.

His hand and eyes lifted. Elijah's beautiful, darkly tanned face was relaxed as he slept. Seth's fingers itched to caress the high cheekbones. Moving of its own accord, his hand rose higher still. Very lightly, fingertips met warm flesh. Seth's heart raced. If Elijah woke up, he'd be in trouble. He should back away, go back out and knock, let Elijah know he was here. But, Seth couldn't move, except for the hand that continued to stroke Elijah's flushed skin.

"Are you really here, or am I dreaming?" The deep baritone stalled Seth's timid exploration of Eli's face.

"You're dreaming." He answered just as low. Elijah's lids blinked open. Piercing blue eyes locked onto Seth.

"Where's your boyfriend?" The quiet question was loaded with accusation, but it was the uncertainty in Elijah's eyes that got the answer.
"Sitting in a rocking chair, holding my niece."  Wariness and doubt flooded Elijah's gaze. Seth brought his fingers down to stop the words forming on Elijah's lips. "We need to talk, but not here.  Can I hold her?" At the other man's nod, Seth scooped his niece into his hands trying very hard to ignore the hard slabs of muscle she lay upon. With her cradled to his chest, Seth crooned to her while moving to lean against the wall. A long arm shot out to grasp his hip. He didn't resist as he was guided back to Elijah's lap.

"If you sit here, we can both see her," Eli said gruffly.  Seth wasn't about to complain, and settled into Elijah's lap. The rocking chair protested the added weight with a pained groan.  They sat stiffly for several minutes, neither speaking, eyes locked on the pink bundle.

Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Copy-Kids makes video content encouraging positive habits in young children by encouraging them to copy other kids.  Our debut release is a DVD entitled Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables.  In it you find children joyfully eating fruits and vegetables.   Kids watching it want to join in.  It’s that simple.  And it’s effective.
A little bit about how Copy-Kids works...
It is broken into chapters. Each chapter is on a specific fruit or vegetable. You don't have to watch them all at once.
You do need to have the food available when your kids watch. So if they are watching carrots, have a plate of carrots available while they watch.
For parents it is all about getting a child to eat... but for the child it is all about copying. They need to have the item right there in front of them while the kids on the screen eat so they can copy what the kids are doing. (Eating carrots.)
Don't worry that you will always have to have the DVD running to get them to eat. They will remember. They will mimic the behavior from memory once they have watched and eaten.
It sounds overly simple... but it is that simple. Kids like to copy other kids. So we provide peer role models to delight little ones into copying healthy behaviors.

My Review:
4 stars

This was a cute video that I enjoyed watching with the kids. It worked to some degree though, since they'll now eat some fruits and veggies, but the youngest still won't touch green beans.

 All in all, this was a fun video to watch with the kids, and it makes the impossible task of eating your veggies fun. Recommended.

“So my brother steals all your money and to compensate you, he suggests you come to England, marry him, and he’ll give you his trust fund.” Only his brother could contrive such an absurd plan.
“Yes.” By her brief answer, he gathered she thought it a perfectly reasonable solution.
His brother might be an idiot, but this gold digger would soon discover Gar a force to reckon with. “Did he steal a half million from your bank account?”
Brendon laughed. “Do you have any idea how long that would take? Cash machines only allow you two visits a day at two hundred dollars a pop.”
“How much did he take?” Gar restated his question.
“Four hundred,” Senna replied.
Gar stared up at the ceiling praying for patience, then glared at Ditz. “So why didn’t you pay her back the four hundred?”
Ditz stubbornly refused to answer, and instead glanced at the girl.


She sighed and faced Gar. “Precisely what I asked. He said he didn’t have the four hundred, but if I married him, he would come into a half million. Since the landlord planned to evict me, I really had no choice but to accept the offer.”
Liza, thanks so much for stopping by. So, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?
Well, I’m an adventurous nut who writes in lots of genres. Right now I’m publishing my humorous books. I thought that would be a better beginning than my seriously deranged books, or my whimsical fantasies. I’ve had a very bizarre life, so I’ve a great deal to write about.


How did you get started writing?
I believe at the age of three, I already needed therapy, so I would tell stories to my friends. Later I learned how to write. I liked the permanency of writing things down better.


What was the inspiration for your book?
I dreamt of a handsome sexy ghost making love to me. It was most intense. I woke up wondering if other people dream of frisky ghosts so I googled the matter. Turns out ghost lovers have been around since the beginning of man….well maybe a little after the beginning, because you can’t technically have a ghost until someone dies and fails to properly reincarnate.
But I had my answer. A great deal of people claim to have experienced ghost lovers, although many are not nearly as romantic and seductive as mine was. Thus, I created a fabulous young woman with the worst luck and the kindest heart. Then I have two British brothers fall in love with her. Unfortunately, she’s engaged to the runabout whom she never plans to have sex with and not the one she loves. Thus, the ancestral ghost must intervene to prevent her from giving up and returning to the States when a misunderstanding occurs. And then for the fun of it, I threw in a ghost cat.


What’s the one genre you haven’t written in yet that you’d like to?
I’m not sure such a genre exists. If I want to write in a genre, I do so.


Are there any genres you won’t read or write in? Why?
While I have read some very good zombie stories, I have no interest in writing about them. Also, dark horror gives me nightmares, so I don’t write or read those. I tend toward lighter fair, even when I write disturbing stuff.


So, what are you working on right now? Got any releases planned, or still writing?
Well, after Ghost Lover, the final of my humorous Contemporary series A Long Road to Love: Coming to Reason, will come out in Feb 2014. This series is a delightful Disaster Romance (as in the romance is a disaster) which follows a charming heroine through her efforts to make a pig’s ass into a silk purse. (metaphorically speaking). In plain English: Carrie tries her hardest to make her spoiled, egocentric billionaire boss into a man she can love. In the final book, she finally gives up after the most astounding breakup ever and finds a better guy to love. He’s been around since book one, but she’d never really noticed him and now she does, she still might lose him. It’s a delightful ending to the series, as long as you don’t wish to cling to her first choice. In that case, you need to stop reading at book 2.
In April 2014, I will remain humorous, but go historical with my Xavier Thorn & Vic series about a brilliant, late-Victorian sleuth and his amazing intuitive assistant who turns out to be a young woman permanently disguised as a man because life as a Victorian woman sucks. (my words not Vic’s. They didn’t use the word ‘sucks’ in that particular meaning back then.)


Alright, now for some totally random, fun questions. Favorite color?     It used to be blue, then I favored green, so I’m going with turquoise now.
Favorite movie?     Pride and Prejudice A&E version
Book that inspired you to become an author?     Pride and Prejudice
Alright, you have one superpower. What is it?
The ability to change the past. Then I could go back and fix the typos I find in my books. (I know, you’re thinking that’s the worst use of a super power ever. However, if I change major things, the results could turn out worse for lots of people. On the other hand, if I improve my books, I cannot imagine any side effects other than making me feeling better.)
You can have dinner with any 3 people, dead, alive, fictitious, etc. Who are they?     Conan Doyle, Jane Austen, Barack Obama.


Last question: Which of your characters are you most like and how/why?
I put parts of myself in every character I write, even the bad ones. But I tend to put more into my main characters.  In Ghost Lover, Gar is probably the most like me. Senna is more the person I wish to be. However, both she and I get into a great deal of trouble. Fortunately, I’ve never been arrested for my moments of stupidity. Thus Senna has worst luck than me. I’m actually pretty lucky.

My Review:

I absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t stop laughing while reading it. I loved the author’s writing style, her wit and humor just added to my enjoyment.

The characters were simply amazing, though the ghosts stole the show for me. While I’m not usually a fan of overly goody-goody characters like Senna, I liked her a lot. She was an engaging character, and I loved the mix of caring, motherly figure with the fiery, no-nonsense spitfire. And while I was a bit ticked with Gar, he slowly overcame that and made me fall for him. Add in the outrageous, childish Brendon, and the crazy, artistic Catlain, and you have one heck of a cast. Add in one ghost cat and one sexy dead man, and the story just gets so much better.

All in all, I absolutely loved this book, and I would definitely recommend this book and this author.
