Today, I want to share about another convention I've been to multiple times and absolutely love. I attended for the third time this past February and meant to do a giveaway and recap. I kept either not having time or forgetting about the post. However, I now believe I didn't post about it because I was meant to post about as part of my birthday celebration, considering the first time I went to the convention, I bought the ticket as a birthday gift for myself.
I got to hang out with a ton of new authors,
including the hysterical Jocelyn Drake and her lovely husband (who has a
surprising talent for rap). I also had the chance to reconnect with some old
friends, including Kiernan Kelly, Aria Kane, JA Souders, Carrie Ann Ryan, Brynn
Myers, Damon Suede, and of course, the spectacular Taylor Law. Plus, I got the
chance to hang with an awesome couple (who wished to remain anonymous) who
ended up helping me out when my hotel situation fell apart. You two are awesome
and greatly appreciated.
I got to geek out over Arrow, the Flash, and
Legends of Tomorrow with Sean Michael during the book signing, which rocked.
And during lunch one day, Tere Michaels and Charlie Cochet convinced me to put
aside my dislike of cliffhanger endings and finally read Charlie’s Thirds
series. Of course, I ended up falling in love with the characters and the world
of the Thirds. So I will just have to deal with the cliffhanger-ish endings
from now on with this series, because I can’t resist the series now (highly
recommended, btw).
This is just a small glimpse into the awesomeness
that is Coastal Magic, and I can’t wait to go back next year (though hopefully
the weather will cooperate).
Now I recognize that not everyone can make it down
here for Coastal Magic, but never fear, because I will bring the Coastal Magic
to you! I am giving away an awesome swag bag (identical to the one in the photo
above) to one lucky commenter (US only). There are all sorts of awesome goodies
that I collected throughout the weekend (including physical books!) inside that
will not disappoint.
I'm glad that you had such a great time at the Coastal Magic convention. I bet your luggage got heavy with the fun stuff that you got there. It always seems that when I don't plan to buy something on a trip, then later I'm trying to cram some new purchase in my too stuffed luggage.

That's why I drive to conventions, lol, so that I don't have to worry about flying everything home. I brought an entire suitcase with me just for swag and books, and I was still throwing stuff into my other suitcase. :)
DeleteOh you had such a great adventure! thank you a lot for thinking about those of us who can't attend and thanks to the couple who helped you!

No problem, I love being able to share the goods with everyone else. And I am very grateful to the couple, as they were big lifesavers for me.
DeleteHappy Birthday and what a great time you had! I love the name, Coastal Magic. I live in Charleston, SC. We have quite a few conventions here. My friend asked me to help work a catered book convention lunch with her, and that is where I met Ann Rule. I was beside myself! I'm happy for you, and I love swag! (jozywails@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome, I'm glad you got to meet her. And I'm glad you love swag, because random.org chose you as my winner!
DeleteI wish I could go to one. Coastal Magic sounds amazing.
